a strong investment climate.
Investors for a Better America is a nonpartisan conference that aims to activate investors and family offices from across the political spectrum to strengthen the civic foundations of American prosperity.
We believe free enterprise and democracy depend on many of the same conditions, and are fundamental to job creation and personal wealth for all Americans:
-
A representative and accountable democracyRepresentative government that protects civil liberties, upholds the law fairly, avoids over-centralization, and safeguards against corruption.
-
Social trustA healthy civil society at the local, state, and national levels, which draws strength from our differences rather than being divided by them.
-
A responsive and effective governmentA functional and fiscally responsible government supported by an independent Federal Reserve and evidence-based policies and institutions.
-
Recruiting the best talent globallyA skilled workforce built through education, opportunity, merit, and welcoming talented people through legal immigration.
-
AlliancesStable and trusted international partnerships, and open, rules-based trade that support American security, competitiveness, and prosperity.
“I believe we have a fiduciary obligation to keep America investor-friendly, which means we need a strong constitutional democracy.”

About Us
We are a group of investors across all major asset classes who are concerned that many of the conditions that have made America an exceptional place to invest and build are under growing strain from polarization, corruption, declining trust, over-centralization, and institutional dysfunction across the political spectrum.
We are nonpartisan: We do not endorse political parties or candidates. We welcome people with diverse political beliefs and focus on the shared civic, constitutional, and economic foundations that allow Americans to pursue those differences peacefully and productively. Quoting Harry Markowitz, pioneer of modern portfolio theory, “The only free lunch in investing is diversification.”

Investors for a Better America is a national gathering of investors, business leaders, governance experts, and civic innovators examining the connection between constitutional democracy, economic growth, and long-term market confidence. It is designed to be a practical, investor-oriented forum focused on strengthening the institutional conditions that allow businesses, markets, and communities to prosper.
The foundation of the event is a shared belief that America’s economic strength depends on the rule of law, reliable contracts, independent institutions, civil rights, and a stable political system. When those foundations weaken, uncertainty rises, investment suffers, and businesses face greater operational and financial risk. Supporting democracy is not simply a civic responsibility. It is essential to protecting long-term value and America’s competitive edge.
The conference will equip investors with practical ways they can act to strengthen American democracy, connect them with leading civil society organizations, and identify opportunities for coordinated action. These steps are not a substitute for public policy, but they are feasible, meaningful, and firmly aligned with the private sector’s own interests.
This inaugural gathering is designed to be the beginning of something larger: an ongoing network of investors and civic leaders committed to strengthening the democratic foundations of American prosperity.

Professional investors are hugely important for the prosperity of every American. Investors manage retirement accounts and pensions that most Americans rely upon. They invest in companies that create jobs. External investment serves as a critical catalyst for macroeconomic innovation and growth. Investors also allow middle-class Americans access to owning a home through mortgages. Without investors, the modern American mortgage system would collapse, as traditional lenders lack the internal cash reserves to hold 30-year loans on their books.
While many are rightly concerned about the growing gap between the wealthiest Americans and the middle class, the overwhelming majority of capital investors deploy is not their own. According to BCG analysis, Individual and retail investors hold roughly half of total global assets under management (AUM), driven heavily by personal wealth, individual retirement accounts, and defined contribution plans. Professional investors also enable the continued impact of universities, philanthropies, and other key institutions serving all of American society.
